FAQs
Do you offer face-to-face appointments?
We offer a small number of face-to-face slots in Greenwich, South-East London and Brighton, East Sussex. We also see clients online in line with their preferences and our face-to-face availability.
How long is your waiting list?
As we are a small practice, we do not hold a waiting list; when all of our therapy treatment slots are filled we will let you know upon enquiry and if possible, will signpost you elsewhere for appropriate support. If we know there is a slot opening up in the coming weeks/month or two, then we will ask you to get back in touch if you are still looking for therapeutic intervention when the time comes.
Can I bring my partner/friend/sibling/parent/colleague to my therapy sessions?
We want to do everything we can to make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible. If you would like someone close to you to accompany you to your first session then please let us know in advance when arranging the appointment. However, there is likely to be a time during this appointment that we will ask to meet with you separately (one-to-one) so that we can create space for you to be able to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences freely. This is normal and something we would usually do with any new client.
How long does each session last?
Our initial assessments tend to last between 60 and 90 minutes in most cases.
Our therapy sessions usually last 50 minutes to one hour. If we are offering trauma-focused therapy, we may suggest some 90-minute sessions in order to offer sufficient time for the active processing to occur in a contained environment.
Do you offer low-cost or sliding scale therapy?
Our work at Context Psychology is the work we do alongside our NHS roles. At present we are sorry that we are not able to offer a low-cost therapy service, but this is something that we hope to develop in time.
Do you take insurance payments?
We are registered with a number of insurance providers, including BUPA and Axa. The cost per session may mean that, depending on the level of cover, an excess may be payable to cover the whole cost.
What happens if I need to cancel my therapy session?
Any cancellations prior to 48 hours (in working days) before the session is due to start will not incur a fine.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice (in working days) will be required to pay the full price of the session. Please note that insurance companies do not cover the cost of missed appointments. For more details, see our Business Terms and Conditions below.
